Looking to refine your foundation and brush up on the basics? Join us for a detailed review of sun salutations and Ashtanga standing postures. These postures are fundamental for any yoga students, even if you are not an Ashtangi. The deeper you delve into your yoga practice the more you can appreciate these primary postures. We will then move into a detailed introduction to Pranayama or breathing practices. Through suspending and elongating the breath, the mind becomes deeply focused and energy moves more freely through the body. Carrie will lead us through a guided Pranayama practice.

Carrie has enthusiastically embraced ashtanga yoga for the past 17 years. She has trained with David Swenson and Manju Jois, Sri K Pattabhi Jois' son. Carrie is grateful to Kino Macgregor, Tim Feldman, Nancy Gilgoff, Tim Miller, Lino Miele , Scott Hendricks, Kim Neitch and Bobbi Misiti for all their workshops and shared technique and expertise. Carrie is known for her light-hearted approach to Ashtanga. She works with various modifications and teaches that Ashtanga yoga can be a lifelong practice.
