200 & 300 Hour Teacher Trainings with Pilgrimage to India

with Liz Guardia, Bristol Maryott & guest presenter David Vendetti

200 HR TRAINING: March - Oct 2025

Want to be a 200 hour yoga teacher AND immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of India? Join Liz Guardia and Bristol Maryott in March 2025 for this sacred journey to the source of yogic knowledge. This training is a hybrid training which means it includes:

A 14 or 10 Day Retreat in India

2 In person weekends at Jala Yoga & Art in Providence, RI

Virtual zoom meetings on Thursday evenings from 6-8PM

Our training is coupled with a retreat to India March 15- April 3rd 2025. You can choose to attend the entire retreat or just come from March 24-April 3rd. From March 15th we will enjoy visiting Jaipur, following in the footsteps of Buddha in Bodhgaya and exploring the holy ghats of Varanasi- this portion of the trip is optional towards the training, but is highly suggested. On March 24th we will arrive in the land of Shiva, Rishikesh, and the teacher training will begin in earnest. In Rishikesh we will focus on yoga philosophy, history of yoga, Indian mythology, meditation, Sanskrit and assisting. While many 200 + 300 hour trainings gloss over these essential basics, our training will have a special resonance because you will enjoy a full immersion in Indian culture.

We will stay in Rishikesh through April 3rd 2025. Upon our arrival back home, you will begin monthly zoom meetings as well as sharing teaching practicums online with your classmates. Two in person weekends will will cover anatomy, chanting, assisting practicums and in-person feedback. At the end of our 200 hours together, you will have a strong understanding of traditional yoga as well as the skillfulness to hold the seat of the teacher in a modern, Western yoga environment.

Testimonials:

Liberation Yoga at Jala Studio provided an incredible experience. The depth of instruction from Liz and Bristol is second to none. The materials (manual and separate assist manual) were comprehensive, interwoven throughout the training, and practical. Drawing from their deep fund of knowledge and expertise our teachers taught authentically and comprehensively. We were privileged to meet an amazing array of guest speakers and go on trips that immersed us in the rich culture of yoga. The video recordings and subsequent feedback brought about significant improvement, and was one of many of the innovative cutting edge aspects to this training. This training carries my highest recommendation and is worthy of your most favorable consideration. - T.M.

Fantastic training! Three major things stand out to me: The teachers, Liz and Bristol, honor the lineage and carefully present the important sacred text in their original form, followed by digestible discussion. I greatly appreciated the amount of time and emphasis on treating the words and message of the texts as sacred teachings. We dived into both Hinduism and Buddhism traditions at great depths, which was unique for a teacher training. For me, this was one of things I was seeking in a training and was pleased with how well it was presented here. Both teachers spoke to their strengths, for which they were knowledgeable and passionate. It gave for a positive dynamic that kept the training fresh every month and left room for students to explore their interests. Students were encouraged to explore and grow into our personal style of teaching (as opposed to becoming a mimic of the teachers). Feedback on students' teaching was constructive and a large component of homework assignments. I really appreciated that we had reading, teaching, and writing assignments between training weekends. Overall I felt challenged (which a 300hr should be!) and had eminence growth as a practitioner and provider of yoga. I have learned a breathe of knowledge, yet am humbled by how much more there still is to learn. Liz and Bristol are experienced, adept, and knowledgeable teachers, yet share the teachings humbly. Perhaps this is one of the greatest lessons from them of all! I couldn't more highly recommend this training! - C.C.
