We’ll be visiting beautiful Samahita on Koh Samui. Samahita has stunning facilities and sits on a 4 kilometer beach from which you can see both the sunrise and sunset. A walk along this beach brings you to a shrine, the Golden Pagoda. Samahita also boasts a saltwater pool, meditation garden, herbal steam room and a juice bar. Our practice space will be overlooking the meditation garden. Food will be buffet-style including a wide variety of Ayurvedic, fresh and local food with raw and vegan options available. Food will be very natural, healthy and delicious with no added sugar, iodized salt or processed oils. Immersion in this beautiful environment will provide an opportunity for your yoga practice to blossom. We’ll dive deeply into yoga asana, with an extended workshop each morning. The afternoon sessions will explore pranayama, meditation, chanting, restoratives, yoga Nidra and yoga philosophy. Classes will be tailored to your needs and the week spent together will allow time to progress and evolve your practice. Bristol Maryott is an Advanced-certified Jivamukti Yoga teacher and also runs a Mysore program in Providence, RI. She will hopefully be joined by Ashtanga teacher Carrie Cooper. (Carrie will, however, be unable to come if her aged parents are unwell.)
Koh Samui does have an airport, making arrival easier. Should you have extra time and want to maximize your vacation, it is possible to stay extra days before or after the retreat at Samahita or travel elsewhere in Thailand. You do not require a visa if you are staying less than 30 days in Thailand.
We have been able to make some truly wonderful deals for early-bird pricing for this retreat.
A single room early bird is $1650.
A private room for a couple is $1400 each.
A semi-private room is $1500. (The suite has two separate bedrooms but a shared bathroom).
A shared two-bedroom loft is $1400. (The two bedrooms are loft-style with a shared bathroom).
This rate includes food, yoga, lodging and two excursions but no transportation or optional extras.
There are limited numbers of each room. Samahita will have another retreat going on as well so I do encourage you to book as soon as possible so that you are able to secure the room and rate you’d prefer. Prices include all food, yoga and lodging but no transport. The resort will be able to arrange reasonably priced transfer from the airport. There will also be three complimentary excursions (weather-permitting): a temple walk, boat and snorkeling trip and a visit to the night market at the Fisherman’s Village in Bophut. If you have a partner who wants to join you but not practice yoga that is no problem, they can join us and simply enjoy being in paradise.
This past February and March convinced me that I truly do need to get away every winter. But we also need time to look deeply within and connect to our selves. Sometimes when I travel I feel that I’ve run away from the chitta-vritti, or hectic nature of my mind, by simply changing environment. But a retreat offers a catalyst to truly assess whether our thinking patterns are serving us and stop identifying with them. I hope that you join me for this wonderful two-part journey: both to magical Thailand and inwards towards your Self.
This retreat is non-refundable after 12/1/2019 but you can transfer your space to another student (you are responsible to find said student). Before 12/1/2019 the retreat is refundable minus a $500 cancellation fee. We advise travel insurance.
ANNUAL Martha’s Vineyard Memorial Day Weekend Retreat

This Memorial Day retreat will include a daily 2.5 hour yoga workshop (asana, meditation and yoga philosophy), fresh vegan food prepared by a professional chef and accommodations in a gorgeous home directly on a private beach in Aquinnah. Escape for a blissful start to the New England summer!
There are both half and full week options for this wonderful retreat. The first half week option will allow you to arrive on Saturday 5/23 (after 2 pm) and leave Tuesday 5/26 anytime. The second half week option will allow you to arrive on Wednesday 5/27 anytime and depart Saturday 5/30 by 10 am. The cost for a half week is $650 including all food, yoga and lodging (no transportation).
The full week would allow you to arrive after 2 pm on Saturday 5/23 and stay through until departure by 10 am Saturday 5/30. The special early-bird cost for a full week is $1100 including all food, yoga and lodging (no transportation). The early-bird rate will end 3/1/20.
Our schedule is a leisurely breakfast from Chef Sydney followed by a refreshing walk to our practice space. An extended asana practice will take up the morning followed by a scrumptious lunch. The afternoons are yours to enjoy the Vineyard (we recommend bringing a car if you’d like to explore) but there will be optional yoga philosophy, meditation and pranayama classes in the afternoon. A delicious dinner will round out the evening.
To reserve your space you can pay a non-refundable deposit of $250. The retreat is non-refundable after 3/1/20 but you can transfer your place to another student (you are responsible to find another student).
